Ignoring lies is most unwise;
It teaches you to rationalize.
A specious guise is no high prize
But all you get from compromise.
Now your eyes avoid surprise;
You don't confront, you philosophize.
Recognize what hiding buys:
A soul denied which dims and dies.

(Inspired by contemplation of the -- thankfully aborted -- appointment of Henry Kissinger to the 9/11 investigative commission.)
